Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Awareness plays a big role in how we process the ideas, emotions, and encounters we face daily. Have you ever questioned your awareness of pain, or confronted your supposed shortcomings and fears to find if they truly exist? MBSR walks you through an exploration and understanding of self, your deepest feelings, fears and desires through mindful awareness. As you turn your focus toward living in the present, you participate in life more fully as it happens, experiencing each joy and pain, and everything around you. Through MBSR, you will value the mystery and magic of the miracle of being alive. It is easy to ignore what’s happening around us as we hope for “better" moments in the future. As you prepare to witness what really happens in your life at the present moment, you’ll gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of your sense of self.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach guided by the adaptive information processing (AIP) model, that explains how trauma is stored in the brain's neural network. Trauma can be encoded deep within our body and mind and previously unprocessed trauma and memories can manifest as dysfunctional traits, behaviors and beliefs that result in anxiety, stress, and negative self-talk that prevent you from fully enjoying life. The eye movements used in EMDR help unlock the system and allow the brain to process the unconscious material. Through EMDR you can tackle unprocessed traumatic past and negative beliefs by opening new channels and accelerating new experiences.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
As the most commonly used therapy today, CBT helps to change your thought processing. This therapy uses a specific formula to challenge your thoughts and create different outcomes in your behaviors and feelings.
Narrative Therapy
This psychotherapy approach uses storytelling to separate the patient from their problems. The stories can help to shape identity, and allow you to redefine and reclaim your story, using your own skills.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
As a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT combines mindfulness with the formulas of CBT to help create different outcomes in your behaviors and feelings. It’s best for substance abuse, suicidal ideation, and mood disorders.
Virtual Therapy
In times of hardship when meeting in person may not be an option, virtual therapy can be a great alternative. Held over secure HIPPA compliant platform, we’ll follow the same format as in-office visits. I provide a complimentary 15 minute virtual consultation to help you decide if therapy is a good fit for you.
Cost and Insurance
Therapy is a financial investment in your own mental health and well being. It is a commitment to your personal journey of healing and transformation. Therapy as a self-care tool will be the best investment you can make, when you commit to this type of work you can experience profound positive changes in your relationships, work-life, mental and physical health.
As an out of network provider I currently accept private pay only via cash, check or credit card. Forms can be provided upon request for insurance reimbursement for qualified patients (see FAQs). Sessions are 50 minutes in length and cost $160 for the initial intake session and $130 for each session beyond that.
